Hi all fish people

I have been thinking for a while to get test kits to test the level of ammonia, nitrate and nitrites and also the ph and hardness of my aquarium water and tap water.

From those of you who have experimented over the years with different test kits and have come to find some reliable and the others just useless I would love to know which are the reliable test kit brands available in Delhi and where to find them.

You can buy Sera test kit for these tests, as I am using and satisfied with it.

best test kits are Sailferts thats what i have read zoo far everywhere
i personally use API test kits right now. but not really satisfied with it and soon shifting on Sailferts

i would warn you against Sera. I have used the their substrate (Sera FloreDepot, fertilize pellets remain undissolved even after years), their brine shrimp (barely any hatched, and most friends also has same experience), and their booklets are full of ridiculous information (directed at increasing sales, not enjoyment of the hobby). Only their heater I liked, and it was priced 1k when others were priced starting Rs 350 (Aquaone, which I bought later and is working just fine). So even that was perhaps not worth it. there might be some products of theirs which are worth buying, since they have been in business since the 1950s, but the question is, which are those?

API seems like a better bet.

@Romi: I have been leaning towards API...used a couple of sera products and havent really been satisfied...thanks for the advice...

I also agree with Romi.The best and most value will come from an API liquid test,if you go want to crazy for accuracy and spend more money you can buy salifert test kits.

API has these nitrite and nitrate strips which are really cheap and easy to use. Dont know whether they are available in Delhi.

The API phosphate kit is also a good one, but actually uses basic chemistry to detect higher levels.

API test kit came with Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia and Ph. I think that all u r looking for. It is available on ebay.in also. I am using it in Saltwater.

hey fish people...I finally ordered the API freshwater test kit....bought it from ebay it cost me Rs.2080 after using the Coupon LSRST02051, the original price was Rs.2780...I guess a good enough deal...
