this is our indian glassfish( Parambassis ranga), coloured dye is injected into the fish's transparent tissue to make them more attractive. this is a painful process only a fraction of them survive for a long time. i too had them many years back (i was not aware of this fact back then). they will gradually loose the color in a few months time.

Do not keep these fish. These are like flowerhorns. Injected with dyes and made to look yellow when in reality they are absolutely transparent fish. The transparent variety is susceptible to water parameters and needs to be kept in groups to survive.

This is a malpractice ........ stop buying tattooed fish ... spread the awareness ...I strongly feel Parambassis Ranga & Lala r attractive fishes....one doesn't need to color it to acknowledge it's beauty ..........
