My goodness, I am speechless. Can this really grow underwater?navneethtk wrote:So, although I've been spending lesser time in the hobby due to exams, I was lucky to procure some insane mosses. Of course they're native. They're semi aquatic and need extremely cool temperature and co2 bombing to grow.
Some are purely terrestrial. Some of them were ferns.
Will post one by one so I can create more suspense on the thread

Hymenophyllum denticulatum. Probably the best fern there is. Even better than the wayanad fern

Re: aquatic plants of india (FREQUENT UPDATES)
i've personally found two species of erios, both turned out to be purely terrestrial. my friend found me some mini erios, which didn't do well in my tank. i got some from an other hobbyist, those didn't do well either. its the one plant that i always fail withsumer wrote:Alright, let's see some erios now
yes but they need cool water 21-25 degrees. strong flow and co2 is mandatory.Romi wrote:My goodness, I am speechless. so i got a message from a bryologist and plant expert telling me not to showcase some of the epiphytics i recently got as they are rare and that the KFD monitors some of these wild colonies where they are grown and sees to it that the existence of these plants continue to exist. so removing them from their natural habitat isn't recommended. i didn't know this until now. so i will not be posting some of the ones i got recently.
meanwhile here's another i got!
Vesicularia reticulata (erect moss) in submerged form. these mosses are usually found growing emersed, but due to recent rains the stream's water level had increased and a portion of it was growing submerged!

Sushant I'll let you know on a secret. About 50-60% of the plants sold commercially are native. Most potamogetons, Hygrophila and rotala are native. Many vesicularia sp, floating plants, crypts are native.vasishta.sushant wrote:But where can we get these from?
