Let us see what variant of the round tail-hmpk your fry juveniles up to be.
I think breeding different varieties is a good idea, allows the ill effects of inbreeding to come down. And out of the many fry, you can always choose the best combination and use it for further breeding...
did the female show bars when she was in breeding form? I like how the stripe appears when she is not ready and a bit afraid of the male, and when she is ready, the bars appear instead. I don't know if all females show it, but mine certainly did. ...

Yeah that's what I thought. But it seems to work the other way around for bettas.
let's wAit and watch.
The bars did appear on the female, does every time.
