Channa Andrao tank
Hi Guys,
Got few channa andrao for myself.
This is the FTS. Need to update background, a good top (now only running with a firm net on top), few more plants and a good lighting.
very active and interact very well:
Colouring up nicely:
Characteristics observed:
1.) Diet: prefer frozen and live shrimp. Not tried with live fish yet. Readily IGNORE pellets, even if its crushed Hikari Massivore They eat readily, from Day 1 in your tank. Juveniles need to be fed 2-3 times a days. Adults, as other Channid, 2-3 times a WEEK.
2.) Aggression: Not that aggressive with each other, that's whay I've observed so far. My friends have tried with locally caught Channa Gachua in captivity (juveniles), but they fought and nipped their fins. Thankfully, these ones aren't as aggressive. People say, even after they've paired up, they arent as aggressive as most other channa. I was transferring fish by hand (I avoid nets wherever i can) and one guy tried to bite me. Whew!
3.) Hiding places, tank decor etc: No preference noted yet, they hardly hide and are swimming around always
I have 6 Juveniles in my tank, hope to get them paired.
Cheers,
Karthik

Karthik, thanks for starting this topic.
I am also keeping Channa andrao from one week. They are amazing fishes with own personality. Watching them is a very good experience specially feeding time. Their behave is also showing that they are also able to recognize their owners. After knowing them, I will also start a topic.

Wow! Rajiv ji. Nice to know. Yeah they're amazing fish. They dance around when I'm around but when others are feeding they only take the food and run away. I thought I'm imagining things. Hehe. Will post updates and wait for ur thread in turn.SCORPIO wrote:Karthik, thanks for starting this topic.

I have no experience with this fish. Why do you need the netting ? Do they jump out ?
