do u think u can find some frogbit for the tank? it is not only biotopically (is there such a word? hehe) correct, but not a pernicious and unpredictable weed like water hyacinth. we have enough of that terrible plant in our water bodies...

Amir has some salvinia, but then, that is not so chic either We, ahem, need a tank to go with the ambience of the adjacent artifacts, u know...

Frogbit is the way. Antiicipated it and started looking for them? Any leads? The water lettuce is disintegrating and discahrging a powdery substance...so a strict No No for my tank. Salvinia can be tried though, will remove the surounding artifacts if need be .
17th doesn't work cause we are travelling...how about tomorrow/day after?

Yesterday afternoon I found eggs on the side wall and a pair fiercely guarding the eggs (driving everyone away, butting the other angels) and fanning them. Decided to take some pics

I am travelling today, so had no option but to remove all the fishes except the pair to another 120gallon blackwater setup I had just started.
Will come back on Monday and figure out what happened to the new borns (if they make it).
What induced breeding: Haven't managed to give any live food...only tetrabits 3-4 times a day. Did not see a pair form too as all the 12 would either hide or be togather. However, what I did yesterday was a 80% water change (the old water going to my 10 gallons). Used RO water which brought the pH down from 6.9 to 6.1. I did find this with other cichlids (Apistogramma Agassizi), a lowering of pH (from 7 to 6 say) induces immediate breeding if there is an adult pair in the tank
