Lighting setups
Would love to see all the lighting setups of the members here. DIY or bought off the shelf all of them. Lets post them along.
As for me running a MH of 150 watts as of now.

My Lighting setups are as:
Tank size : 90X45X45 cm
Dutch style planted tank.
Lighting : 3 footer T5X4 = 84 watt
Lighting on 10 hours daily
Tank size : 90X45X45 cm
Anubias, moss and other low light requirement planted tank.
Lighting : PLL 35 watt X2 = 70 watt
Lighting on 5-6 hours daily
Tank size : 45X30X30 cm
Anubias, Utricularia gramanafolia, Subwassertang, mosses, etc.
Lighting : CFL 27 watt X1 = 27 watt
Lighting on 8 hours daily
Tank size : 45X30X30 cm
Subwassertang, HM etc.
Lighting : CFL 20 watt X1 = 20 watt
Lighting on 8 hours daily
Tank size : 90X45X45 cm

You can go for LED lighting. Abhishek from Rohini using only LEDs in his five footer marine tank. Result is amazing. You have to go to Lajpat Rai Market to buy those LEDs and driver. I have also bring some 3 watt Royal blue and white LEDs.

tank size: 42x18x24
light: 30x 3W LED (cool white) + 2x 15 W T5
tank size: 18x 12x12
light: 9x 3W LED(cool white) + 4x 3W (royal blue)

Seems like everyone is moving to LEDs, whats the source and how is the growth rate in terms of the flora and coralline algae?

I run the following tubes on my tank
4x 12000k 2 foot neon tubes
2x 8000k 2 foot neon tubes.
The tubes are suctioned cupped to a 40" strip of glass that is held up in place by clothline clips.
My tank is a 30x12x12

Just cos it happened to you is no means for you to claim that it will happen to me. Exceptions aren't the rule.
