What substrate for outdoor pond

Hi friends, I am planning to build an outdoor cement pond 5*5 feet and planning to keep plants and fishes please suggest what substrate I should use which fishes and plants I can have and other requirements , looking forward for valuable suggestions from stalwarts and veterans :thnk

Hi Krishvijay,

You may try the regular garden soil. I have been successful in growing many plants with this substrate.
Just take note that:

1.) Keep good amount of plants to suck up the nutrients and avoid algal growth.
2.) Avoid too much direct sunlight.
3.) regularise water change schedule
4.) choose livestock that do not dig the substrate and add them after about 2 weeks from the day you decide to add plants.
