Is this Moss or Algae Threads?

Hi,
I have something weird growing on my Christmas Moss. I was happy that it was growing roots or something for anchoring, but then i realised it is growing way too much. Is it a part of the Moss or some Invasive Algae? Please help in identify.

Algae for me, you have less moss in it.

Oh Thanks for Clarifying. This is disheartening, i thought they were the roots of my Christmas Moss.
Are they harmful in anyways?

yes you should not have these in you tank, it will spread on other plants. Take the portion and clean it, then put rest moss inside.

Any idea about the name of this Algae? this is not Hair Algae, this one is strong rough and has branches...

Hair Algae.
How to get rid of it?..
I removed lot of them Manually. But i know soon they ll grow again...
