Braceless rimless planted barebottom discus breeding tank
I just made a tank of size 30x18x24 with 10 mm regular float glass (non polished) and I am planning to keep it braceless. Plants will be Java ferns and Anubias varieties on driftwood. Probably I will add some duckweeds too.Back panel and side panels will be white in colour. This 50 gallon will be filtered with Sunsun 505A canister filter. Lighting not confirmed till now. Maybe a DIY led or led flood light or led ceiling light. There will be a 3 watt blue LED for night time.
Your valuable suggestions will be helpful especially about bracing and lighting.
The window behind will provide some indirect sunlight too if needed.

Clean work.
Do you also want to keep plants in this tank?

Got some driftwoods. Planning to add Java ferns and Anubias. Maybe some floating plants too. It's a barebottom with that white color

For breeding discus people dont recommend keeping tank with plants and wood . Its best to do bare bottom tank.

Canister is always good but make sure that inlet is positioned and secured in such a way that babies dont get sucked also keep the flow to bare minimum

Discus may get injured with driftwoods so I changed my plan by keeping some plants at back and both sides on some rocks. So that it will be easy to clean as well having some hiding places to reduce stress. Plus a planted tank's benefit.

Get some Hornwort (ceratophyllum), you can tie it to stones since it has no roots, but it will give you the green cover you like and the tank will look nice and full too, even without substrate.

Yeah hornwort is a good idea. As a fast growing one it's a good water purifier too.

After resolving some minor leaks just filled the tank upto 54 cm. No noticeable bend on 10mm glass. So far so good.
Water column volume is 74 x 44 x 54 cm = 176 litres = 46 US gallons.
