Peruvian scalare Angel
The second round of egg laying happened today! And it was spawning en mass! I had separated the earlier breeding pair in a bare bottom tank, and given them a slate. Today morning found lots of eggs in them. On the main tank, two more pairs started a breeding competition on two different driftwoods. The ritual started around 12:30 went on for an hour or so.I will try and post the video of the egg laying process, let me figure out how to do it. Till then...just the pictures of the female. The female develops a 'mouth of a toothpaste' kind of tube. She gently glosses over the surface and the eggs get deposited!
I can't afford to give each pair their own honeymoon suit.....so had to do a community raising. Therefore, these driftwoods (covered with eggs) are in a bucket, aerated by an airpump and left on its own to hatch. Want to see, which one work better. Eggs with parents present (in the bare bottom tank) or eggs left to hatch on their own.

Bappa Da, make some small cages by net to keep away eggs from fish.

Re: Peruvian scalare Angel
Well it is not really necessary to cage the eggs from the parents. And Rajeev ji if one is not
Looking for commercial production it is better for an hobbyist to let the parents take care of the babies till they are free swimming at the least. Just a personal approach which I find to work well for me.
Angels are pretty good parents if there is ample room in the tank. And a very beautiful site.
Regards
Kuldip

Congratulations Bappa Da, I assume this is the effect of providing the best possible required setup to the fishes. Best of Luck.
