New Scape

Unread post by sushant »

i was getting bored of my existing setup . So, one fine day me along with Akshay decided to give ADA a try. The day finally arrived and the scape was ripped apart to give way for a new one.

Plan was to create a photo journal for the entire process and Aksay was given the charge for bringing his camera, which he forgot to and we ended up clicking pics with my mobile phone.

tank Specs are:

Dimensions: 42 X 18 x 24

substrate: New ADA Amozonia.

lights: 30 X 3W led + 2x 15 W T5

photo period: 10 hrs: 11 am-3pm (to complement the defused light coming from my window) and 7 PM- 1AM

flora:
Ludwigia Inclinata
Tonina Sp
Glossostigma
Heteranthera Zosteraefolia
Hygrophilla augustofolia
Eriocaulon sp
Riccia
Java moss
java fern
Ambulia
tiger lily

Fauna:
neon tetra
black neon tetra
SAE
dwarf neon rainbow
parkinson's rainbow
rummynose tetra

Here is the hardscape

The idea was to create a river using glosso mat running through a forest on one side and grassland sort of thing on the other

I was very much inspired by the method used by Oliver Knott for filling up his tanks and my last experienced proved it to be the highly effective method.

Though i myself don't support the idea of putting live stock shortly but lack of space to stock them left me no choice. tried to minimize the effect by adding the canister filter from a matured tank and addition of Sera bioactive.

Use a white paper background. ADA is also uses white background now a days. Photography results are also very cool and beautiful. I am also using white background in one of my 45X30X30 cm tank.

Good progress!
Try some moss on the root area of wood.

temperature is on the higher side so i'm finding it difficult to grow the mosses, also the SAE are making good feast of them.
