beautiful specimen.

would love to keep snakeheads at home but someone got it into my moms head that Snakeheads (or Braal) as it is known locally has medicinal value and has made it a habit to purchase it from the fishmongers. I could never keep a fish that i know is being eaten by the rest of the family.

Zakk...the channa species is widespread , therefore they do constitute a part of human diet. As a matter of fact , all human habitats near rivers mostly have fish as their staple diet. That includes chiclids (Tilapia), catfish (Pabda), Barbs (Rosy barb) , Gar (Freshwater garfish) , Gourami (Honey gourami) etc. A lot of these species also find their way into our tanks. But that's ok I guess. One man's food , another man's pet !!!
